Living their faith leads Family Empowerment Center’s staff to make the greatest difference.
“Our job is not to come and do for people, but rather to live life with our neighbors and point them to avenues of empowerment for themselves” – Susan DeLano, Family Empowerment Centers
Their faith calls Family Empowerment Centers (FEC) staff – like DeLano and her husband – to not just work at the Rogers Park nonprofit, but also to live in and be of the poor urban community it serves too.
In other words, FEC staff not only teach others to fish, they share the hardships that force a hungry person to go fishing too.
